Item Status Definition

General Merchandise

New

- New, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). In-tact retail package, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

Like New

- Unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects.

Used - Functional

- The item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used.

Used - Non Functional

- The item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear. This item may have been a floor model or store return that has been used.

Repaired

- Repaired by a technician.

Checked Assets

- Item has been tested/checked and found one or all of the following remarks:
- Working but with obvious defect on its parts and/or accessories
- Working but with minimal defect that can be repair
- Working but incomplete parts and accessories
- Partially Working but incomplete parts and accessories that may effect its ability to operate correctly.
- This item does show noticeable wear, it may have marks, scratches, cracks, small nicks, or dings.
- May have function defects, obvious physical defects, missing manuals and accessories may have no Packaging.
- Any findings as declared on the extended description.

Salvage and/or for part-out

- An item that does not function as intended and is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing essential components.

Plant Equipment and Machinery (PEM)

Unused

- Has never been used (less than 20 hours/1,500 km).

Excellent

- Limited use; probably shows some evidence of handling and use, but in practically new mechanical condition.

Very Good

- In exceptionally good mechanical condition; may have been over hauled or may never have been used enough to require overhaul.

Good

– no known mechanical defects, except as detailed in the Additional Notes field; in operating condition, but may have some worn parts that will need repair or replacement soon.

Fair

- Has seen considerable service and may require general overhaul soon; may be old or may have suffered hard use.

Poor

- Has seen hard service; is worn and needs repair.

Automotive

Outstanding

- Exceptional mechanical, exterior and interior condition; requires no reconditioning. The vehicle is in exceptional mechanical, exterior, and interior condition with no visible wear; it requires no reconditioning. The paint will have a glossy appearance. The vehicle has no mechanical and/or cosmetic problems and has a clean engine compartment. The Exterior and interior are free of any damage. Tires are in nearly new condition. Has the ability to pass an emissions inspection.

Clean

– Some normal wear but no major mechanical or cosmetic problems; may require limited reconditioning. The vehicle shows some normal wear but has no major mechanical and/or cosmetic problems. Paint still has a glossy finish and may have slight scratches or dings. Some reconditioning may be needed. The Interior will have minimal fading and wear. Tires have substantial tread remaining. Has the ability to pass an emissions inspection.

Average

– May have a few mechanical and/or cosmetic problems and may require a considerable amount of reconditioning. Vehicle may have a few mechanical and/or cosmetic problems and may require a considerable amount of reconditioning. Exterior paint has some dullness. The vehicle may have a considerable amount of scratches or dings. Interior material is slightly worn and faded. Tires have some usable tread remaining. Has the ability to pass an emissions inspection.

Rough

– Several mechanical and/or cosmetic problems requiring significant repairs. The vehicle has several mechanical and/or cosmetic problems. The exterior and interior need significant repairs. Tires may need to be replaced. The vehicle may need minor repairs to pass an emissions inspection.

Damaged

– Major mechanical and/or body damage that may render it in non-safe running conditions. The vehicle has major mechanical and/or body damage that may render it in non-safe running conditions. The Exterior and interior is damaged or worn. Tires need to be replaced. Vehicle may require significant repairs to pass an emissions inspection.
